Horsemanship Clinic - 2 Days Two day clinics designed to suit all levels and any discipline of riding. Physical and mental control of the horse is the catch-cry at these clinics. Physical control of the feet and legs to the ground and mental control of the horses mind to allow the horse to relax and absorb the riders commands.Total body control is necessary to achieve physical control of the horse and this is achieved by dissecting the horse into 4 sections i.e. head, shoulders, ribs and hips. Riders body position through the gaits is also considered very important at this stage. Topics covered include; stops, backups, turns, leads and lead departures. The only prerequisites for this clinic are two good listening ears and an open mind.
Advanced Horsemanship Clinic- 2 Days A prerequisite to this clinic is attendance at one horsemanship clinic at least. More attention is given to individual horse and rider problems. Advanced topics such as spins, lead changes and sliding stops are covered during this clinic.
Colt Starting Clinic (colt meaning young horse)- 4 Days Four day clinic designed for the young horse that has been lightly handled or never touched. Topics covered include; horse-human relationship, ground work, saddling, bridling, mounting, riding, leg and feet handling, tying up and float loading. At the clinic we try and establish a good relationship with the young horse through respect and trust and develop a solid foundation for future training.
Cattle Working Clinic - 3 Days Three day clinic covering the basics of competitive cattle working competitions such as cutting, campdrafting or cow horse. Attendance at one of the cattle working clinics gives participants the skills required to then specialise in any of the competitive cattle working fields. |
